Directions and Parking at CASTELLO Düsseldorf
The directions to CASTELLO Düsseldorf are clearly organized and designed for various modes of transport. The address is Karl-Hohmann-Straße 1 in 40599 Düsseldorf. Those arriving by car should approach from the south via Karl-Hohmann-Straße and follow the official signage that leads directly to the venue. On the official directions page, CASTELLO points out that visitors should plan ample time for arrival and departure, as traffic personnel on-site will guide visitors to the nearest available parking option during peak times. This is especially important on busy event nights, as traffic can quickly build up around the hall during sports events or large shows. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/anfahrt))
For parking, there is an underground garage directly at the hall as well as additional parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. This is convenient for guests arriving by car who prefer short distances. At the same time, CASTELLO makes it clear that parking tickets can only be purchased on-site and that vehicles cannot remain overnight in the parking lot. There are also no motorcycle parking spaces, nor any RV parking spots or a taxi stand directly at the venue. These clear rules help organize visits in an orderly and safe manner. Those arriving with accessibility needs will find designated parking spaces directly at the main entrance. Additionally, it is interesting for many guests that the ticket for numerous events also serves as a fare ticket in the VRR area, providing an additional incentive for comfortable travel by bus and train. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/anfahrt))
The public transport connection is one of the major advantages of the location. CASTELLO is located in close proximity to the S-Bahn and bus stop Düsseldorf-Reisholz S. For this reason, the venue itself recommends using public transport for a stress-free visit. Additionally, the use of a park-and-ride facility is possible, which is located along the route network of various S-Bahn and bus lines. For search queries like “castello düsseldorf directions” or “castello düsseldorf parking,” this is particularly relevant, as the hall remains easily accessible not only for local visitors but also for guests from the surrounding areas. The combination of underground garage, proximity to Reisholz S, park-and-ride, and event-dependent VRR ticket makes the journey overall flexible and practical. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/anfahrt))
Block Plan, Seating Plan, and Accessible Seats
Those who want to inform themselves about seating in advance will find a block plan available both online and on-site at CASTELLO Düsseldorf. The ticket itself also indicates which tier and seat you will occupy. This is especially helpful for highly sought-after events, as it provides a good overview of your position in the hall before entry. This transparency is important for visitors searching for “castello düsseldorf seating plan” or “castello düsseldorf block plan,” as it facilitates seat selection and orientation on the day of the event. The hall operates with a clear structure of tier areas and the interior space, allowing for different sightlines and experience zones depending on the event format. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/haeufige-fragen))
Accessibility is not just a peripheral topic at CASTELLO Düsseldorf, but part of the visitor concept. The seats for people with disabilities and those with mobility impairments are located on the west side of the tier. Accessible restrooms are located to the right and left of the main entrance, in close proximity to the accessible parking spaces. Those who require a wheelchair space should purchase their ticket not through CASTELLO itself, but directly through the respective organizer. This process is important because ticket contingents and sightlines are organized individually depending on the event. Here, too, the venue demonstrates its commitment to clear processes: guest flow, accessibility, and sightlines to the stage or playing field should remain manageable for as many visitor groups as possible. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/barrierefreiheit?utm_source=openai))
Additionally, the venue supports an early and organized entry. CASTELLO recommends timely arrival to allow sufficient time for security and ticket checks. Depending on the event, entry times may vary, and the regulations for children and adolescents are subject to youth protection laws or any special rules set by the respective organizer. For families, fans, and groups, it is therefore important not only to look for the right seat but also to read the information in the event calendar. This way, the “seating plan” becomes not just a static graphic but a practical orientation tool for a smooth visit. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/einlass-sicherheit?utm_source=openai))
Tickets, Program, and Typical Events at CASTELLO Düsseldorf
The program of CASTELLO Düsseldorf is intentionally broad. The website lists sports events, concerts & shows, and corporate events as central types of events. For the sports sector, the venue explicitly mentions handball, basketball, and boxing as areas of use for the indoor space, which can be utilized for a total of 75 other sports and formats. This versatility explains why the hall frequently appears in search queries alongside event names. Those searching for “castello düsseldorf program” or “castello düsseldorf tickets” do not expect a purely concert arena but a stage for very different live experiences. CASTELLO delivers exactly that: from hall sports to entertainment to business events. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/veranstalter/sport-events?utm_source=openai))
In recent years, several prominent events in the CASTELLO have drawn attention in the sports and show formats. The Icon League made the hall the center of indoor football in 2025, We Love MMA brought mixed martial arts to Düsseldorf in 2025 and 2026, and the Harlem Globetrotters are also represented in the official event area of the venue. Additional formats include the Davis Cup, Premier Padel, darts, futsal, or basketball games of the ART Giants Düsseldorf. This mix is particularly valuable for keyword analysis, as event searches often occur not only by location but also by specific event names. Thus, CASTELLO is not just a hall but a place where various target groups meet repeatedly for very different occasions. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/event/the-icon-league-17-03-2025?utm_source=openai))
The venue is particularly strong in the sports sector. On the official sports event page, CASTELLO describes itself as an ideal venue for all sports. The indoor space can be used as a handball court, basketball court, or boxing ring and is additionally suitable for many other formats. This statement clarifies why the hall is so popular with organizers: it offers not only space but also an infrastructure that can be adapted for tournaments, show fights, and media-effective formats. For visitors, this means a varied program with changing staging and often very close contact with the action. Therefore, those searching for “the icon league castello düsseldorf,” “we love mma castello düsseldorf,” or “the harlem globetrotters castello düsseldorf” will find in CASTELLO a place that hosts these formats not by chance but out of full functional conviction. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/veranstalter/sport-events?utm_source=openai))
Capacity, Interior Space, and Technology of the Event Hall
A central feature of CASTELLO Düsseldorf is its flexible capacity. The official media page states a maximum total capacity of up to 4,000 people. For concerts and shows, the organizer's page indicates a capacity of up to 3,300 visitors; the interior space itself measures 1,622 square meters, making it large enough to allow for various setups. For certain interior configurations, the room overview also states capacities of 1,500 people, which shows how much the room concept depends on the specific seating arrangement and event format. This scalability is a key reason why the hall is used for both sports and show and business events. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/medienbereich))
The hall is also technically designed for adaptability. The official description mentions an exclusive 360° sound system; additionally, the interior can be darkened, has a variable curtain system, and a durable sports flooring made of linoleum. The interior cannot be seen from the outside, which is an advantage for productions with special lighting or stage concepts. These technical details make the hall interesting for TV productions, fashion shows, social events, and of course for sports with high media presence. For the search intent behind “castello düsseldorf capacity” or “castello düsseldorf photos,” these are exactly the pieces of information that people want to know in advance: How big is the space, how flexible is it, and what atmosphere can one expect there? The answer is: very flexible, media-friendly, and prepared for changing presentations. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/medienbereich))
The event infrastructure also includes several ancillary rooms that round out CASTELLO as a professional event venue. There are four VIP boxes for 10 to 20 people each, a conference room with 118 square meters, a multifunction room with 71 square meters, and two bistro areas with direct views into the interior space. The bistros regularly offer 48 seats each, and together at standing tables can accommodate up to 300 people. These areas are not only interesting for hospitality but also for press, production, meetings, or quiet retreat zones during larger events. The conference room is filled with daylight and can be darkened, making it particularly attractive for meetings or press conferences. Therefore, those who perceive the venue only as a hall overlook a much more comprehensive event campus with clearly defined functional areas. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/veranstalter/raumuebersicht))
Food, Drinks, and Visitor Comfort
CASTELLO Düsseldorf also focuses on practical solutions for visitor service. Food stands are available for small snacks and drinks. The offering includes non-alcoholic beverages, Altbier, and quick snacks, allowing for easy access before, during, and after the event. Payment can be conveniently made using common payment methods, such as cash, EC or credit card, and smartphone. This is an important detail for many guests, as it makes the visit less stressful and reduces waiting times at the stands. Especially during long sports evenings or sold-out shows, a well-organized gastro area is a real comfort factor. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/speisen-getraenke))
Visitor rules also include that outside food and drinks are generally not allowed. Exceptions only apply in special cases, such as for people with diabetes. The carrying of bags and backpacks larger than DIN A4 is not permitted for security reasons; smaller bags may be allowed depending on the event, while larger items can be deposited at the cloakroom free of charge. The venue generally recommends early arrival to allow sufficient time for security and ticket checks. Those searching for “castello düsseldorf reviews” quickly realize that such organizational details often make the difference: a well-regulated entry, clear baggage rules, and a predictable process are perceived by many guests as signs of good event organization. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/einlass-sicherheit?utm_source=openai))
The handling of the smoking ban and service questions is also clearly communicated. Smoking is not allowed in CASTELLO Düsseldorf, including e-cigarettes. An ATM is not available on-site, but payments can be made at the food stands and at the cash registers by card. Questions about allergens are answered directly at the respective stands, and problems on-site should be directed to the security personnel. For many visitors, this clear communication is important, as it makes the event manageable and reduces unnecessary uncertainties. Especially families, groups, and guests with special requirements benefit when the most important information is transparently available on the website before arrival. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/besucherinfos/haeufige-fragen))
History, D.LIVE, and the Role as an Event Address
The current role of CASTELLO Düsseldorf is best understood in the context of the development of the entire Düsseldorf event portfolio. According to the history of Düsseldorf Congress, the company took over the operational management of CASTELLO Düsseldorf in 2011, a hall for 3,300 people in southern Düsseldorf, which is highlighted by TV shows and handball games. This classification shows that the venue did not enter the market by chance but is part of a professionally developed infrastructure for congresses, sports, and entertainment. This is relevant for the city of Düsseldorf, as a location profile has developed here that can serve both local clubs and international tour formats and corporate events. ([duesseldorfcongress.de](https://www.duesseldorfcongress.de/unsere-geschichte/))
Today, CASTELLO is part of the location portfolio of D.LIVE and is described on the media page as multifunctional, state-of-the-art, and optimally equipped. In addition to CASTELLO, other large Düsseldorf venues are listed there, strengthening the overall hall landscape of the city. This is important for the positioning of CASTELLO, as the hall should not be viewed in isolation but as part of a larger event network with experience in sports, shows, and business. This embedding also explains why the venue can handle very different formats so confidently: from basketball games to TV productions, from boxing events to padel tours, from concerts to corporate events, the processes are tested, and the room concept is accordingly adapted. ([castello-duesseldorf.de](https://www.castello-duesseldorf.de/medienbereich))
In the end, the impression remains of a hall that combines pragmatic visitor information with genuine event quality. The location in Reisholz, the proximity to Düsseldorf-Reisholz S, the clear parking logic, the block plan, the accessible seats, and the versatile technical equipment together create a coherent overall picture. Those searching for “castello düsseldorf program” are usually looking for not just a date but an experience; those searching for “castello düsseldorf parking” want a smooth evening; and those asking for “castello düsseldorf seating plan” want good visibility and planning security. CASTELLO responds to these search intents with a hall that can continually reinvent itself while maintaining its structure. This makes it attractive for visitors, organizers, and artists alike.
We visited the Castello not for a sport event, but for a trading card show called Cardmadness. The venue was perfect for that show and everything was well organized. Having more parking spots would be an upside.

Not the best arena for watching volleyball. Quite far from city center. Expensive food and drinks.

-The security check on the front door made me throw away 1kg of cheese that I have brought from Netherlands and was in my bag as there was no place to put it. I understand that they want to sell their own drinks and food, but I was obviously not gonna avoid buying pop-corn because I have cheese in my bag. -The numbering of the sections were not written clearly enough, I struggled to find my seat.

It's very big but not overly big just like her average big. He has a lot of restrooms, it's clean, the food that has part options usually only sells pretzels and hotdogs so if you're vegetarian or vegan you're basically f*****. I've been on the varsity all level championship in the year 2018, 2017 2 and 2016(I think). It has two stories and it's quite countable but there are not a lot of restaurants or food places in general near this so my team couldn't go to eat after. There is no edeka in reach but that's it really. Overall had a great experience there it's nice and you'd probably also like it just it's nothing extraordinary.
