Tracks: When every decision leaves its own trace
The world is open, the possibilities seem limitless – and therein lies the overwhelming nature. In Tracks, the Youth Company tanzhaus nrw brings the search for orientation, the pressure for perfection, and the fear of missing out to the stage as contemporary dance theater.
Movement between freedom and overwhelm
Sixteen dancers aged 12 to 18 wrestle with the question of what it means to find one's own path. Do I stay on my track or take a shortcut? Do I go left or right? Am I jumping on the train – or has it already left?
The dramaturgy of Tracks moves through a maze of expectations, obligations, fears of the future, and external influences. Dance becomes a medium for expressing experiences that are hard to put into words: doubt, anger, strength, chance, happiness, and the desire for a self-determined life.
A rhythm trip of the young generation
The production connects individual movement languages with the physical expression of a community. In the choreographic dynamics, personal traces become visible that intersect, disappear, and reconnect. The body speaks where language reaches its limits.
A published review describes the evening as a rhythmic journey between acceleration and standstill. The hurried sounds of the dancers and a striking music make the inner pressure acoustically palpable. This creates a theatrical atmosphere, where the stage space becomes a station of a generation: full of branches, announcements, and unresolved destinations.
Dance as a common path
The Youth Company tanzhaus nrw emerged from the take-off program as a development project for talent promotion in dance. The group was invited to the renowned Youth Dance Meeting in Berlin in 2024 and 2025. This artistic development also shapes Tracks: The young performers combine dance precision with immediate acting skills and a strong presence.
The stage design remains open to the audience's imagination. Each movement creates a new spatial trace, and each rhythm changes the perspective. This results in a sensual stage experience that appeals to both young viewers and adults who recall their own intersections in life.
Conclusion: An evening about the art of searching for one's own path
Tracks invites you to a concentrated, powerful, and touching dance evening. The Youth Company tanzhaus nrw transforms questions of future, identity, and belonging into vivid stage art. Those who want to experience contemporary dance as the physical language of a young generation will find an intense stage experience in the Great Hall of tanzhaus nrw.
