Urban Double Bill: Two Choreographic Voices, an Intense Dance Evening
When urban movement language meets contemporary stage art, an evening full of energy, precision, and surprising perspectives emerges. The Urban Double Bill presents two positions from the urban dance scene on December 20, 2026, at tanzhaus nrw.
Urban Dance Culture in Dialogue
This format provides artists with space to further develop their choreographic practice and test new works directly in front of an audience. Two independent performances come together and reveal how diverse urban dance cultures can appear on stage.
Movement as Language
In the Small Hall and Studio 6, body, rhythm, and space are at the center of the presentation. The dramaturgy of the evening lives from the contrast of two artistic signatures: sometimes powerful and impulsive, sometimes concentrated and finely nuanced. Acoustics, lighting mood, and stage space create the resonance for an immediate stage experience.
Emerging Artists Meet Professional Guidance
The Urban Double Bill sees itself as a developmental space for emerging artists. Experienced mentors from urban dance practice, stage work, and community building accompany the creation of the works. Thus, the event connects artistic research with vibrant audience interaction.
Conclusion: Experience Dance Up Close
The Urban Double Bill invites you not only to observe urban dance art but to physically experience it. Those looking for contemporary choreography, independent stage positions, and an open theater atmosphere will find a focused dance evening with a special closeness to the artistic process.
