Chocolat: A sensual fairy tale between chocolate, acting, and jazz
When the curtain rises on February 23, 2027, at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the stage transforms into the church square of a French village. Chocolat combines acting, reading, and concert into an atmospheric stage experience with Ann-Kathrin Kramer, Harald Krassnitzer, and live music in the style of Django Reinhardt.
A pastry shop brings a village to life
At the center is a young single mother who opens a pastry shop in the church square, creating a meeting place with the finest chocolate. The sweet temple changes the close-knit community and puts familiar rules, prejudices, and moral certainties to the test.
Screwball comedy with bittersweet dramaturgy
Chocolat unfolds as an enchanting fairy tale for adults and at the same time as a classic screwball comedy. The production thrives on the interplay of pointed dialogues, narrative readings, and the fine tension between social constriction and personal freedom. Ann-Kathrin Kramer and Harald Krassnitzer guide with great stage presence through this story about change, tolerance, and the lasting power of human encounters.
Live music like a warm evening breeze
A special color is added to the theater evening through the captivating live music in the style of Django Reinhardt. Guitar sounds and jazzy rhythms lend lightness to the stage action, while the dramaturgy alternates between humorous moments and reflective interludes. Acting and concert atmosphere merge into a sensual total experience.
An evening for friends of clever entertainment
The Tonhalle Düsseldorf provides a festive setting for this guest performance. In the Mendelssohn Hall, the atmospheric power of theater, the acoustics of the concert hall, and the intimate effect of a musical narrative come together. The audience can expect a varied evening full of charm, fine comedy, and musical warmth.
Conclusion: Chocolate as a language of encounter
Chocolat invites you to experience a story about openness and human closeness live. Those who want to discover acting, literature, and jazz in an extraordinary production will find in this stage experience an evening with bittersweet conflicts, sensual sounds, and humorous lightness.
