Wild Paths 2027: Three Days Outdoors, in the Heart of Düsseldorf
When the Düsseldorf Racecourse opens its gates at Grafenberger Wald on July 9, 2027, a new festival begins for everyone who feels at home outdoors. Wild Paths combines hunting, fishing, nature and species conservation, forestry and agriculture, as well as outdoor, camping, and adventure into a versatile multi-day experience.
Festival Atmosphere Amidst Forest, Water, and Wilderness
On approximately 25,000 square meters, a festival area will be created with historic grandstands, spacious open areas, and close proximity to Grafenberger Wald. The open-air atmosphere meets hands-on formats: Visitors discover equipment, experience demonstrations, and engage with people from various nature and outdoor communities.
Six Thematic Worlds for the Curious and Professionals
The line-up of Wild Paths is not a classic music program, but a broad range of artists, workshops, and experiential offerings surrounding the outdoors. The six thematic worlds of forest and wild, water, paths and wilderness, living outdoors, discovering nature, and land and habitats guide visitors through the festival.
Among the planned activities are dog and falconry demonstrations, wildlife observation, fishing and water sports formats, hiking, trekking, nature travels, bushcraft, forest cooking, birding, nature photography, and offerings related to agriculture, biodiversity, and nature conservation. Workshops, talks, stage content, and interactive offerings make the topics directly tangible.
From Early Morning Walks to Campfires
Wild Paths emphasizes real encounters over mere presentations. In the morning, the path leads to the Early Bird Walk in the forest; throughout the day, product tests, tours, and workshops invite experimentation. In the Wild Kitchen, with local manufacturers and at exhibitor stands, expertise combines with enjoyment. As the campfires burn in the evening, a sense of community develops among experienced nature lovers, families, beginners, and younger groups.
Festival Organization with Open Access
No hunting or fishing licenses or personal equipment are required for attendance. Wild Paths caters to hunters, anglers, dog handlers, falconers, foresters, farmers, conservationists, outdoor fans, families, and curious individuals without prior knowledge. The festival organization combines expo, outdoor festival, educational formats, and community meetings in an extraordinary location.
Düsseldorf Racecourse: A Listed National Heritage Festival Venue
The racecourse at Rennbahnstraße 20 offers a distinctive backdrop with the tea house, the old grandstand from 1913, the new grandstand, and the old weighbridge. Grafenberger Wald and the wildlife park are about 500 meters away. The site has its own parking spaces, a shuttle service, and barrier-free access.
Conclusion: Wild Paths Makes Nature a Shared Experience
Wild Paths 2027 brings together people to experience, utilize, protect, and shape nature. Visitors can expect a hands-on festival with workshops, demonstrations, tours, wild cooking, outdoor themes, and the special feeling of being together outdoors for three days. Those who want to experience the first edition of this new festival should mark their calendars for July 9 to 11, 2027.
