Discover diverse art media by Thomas Schütte at K21

The Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen dedicates a major exhibition to the Düsseldorf artist Thomas Schütte at K21. Starting from November 14, 2026, the exhibition provides insights into a versatile artistic oeuvre that connects different media and forms of expression.

On display are sculptures, paintings, ceramics, installations, watercolors, and architectural models. The exhibition thus makes the wide range of Schütte's works visible and invites visitors to view his engagement with form, material, space, and architecture from different perspectives.

Versatile Work at K21

Thomas Schütte is among those artists who do not restrict themselves to a single medium. In the exhibition, plastic works meet paintings and paper works, while ceramic works, installations, and models create additional references between object, space, and built environment. K21 provides the framework for a concentrated presentation of these different groups of works.

Visitors can use the exhibition to familiarize themselves with the characteristic themes and forms in the work of the artist based in Düsseldorf. The collection is aimed both at those who already follow Thomas Schütte's work and at those who wish to engage with his œuvre for the first time.
