Modern Stained Glass: Experience Art in Dialogue

On Thursday, November 19, 2026, the Clemens Sels Museum Neuss invites you to the art talks about modern stained glass. Dr. Carola Gries will share interesting and exciting insights about selected works and artists from the collection from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.

Vibrant Color between Art and Architecture

Stained glass unfolds its effect in the interplay of light, color, and material. The art talks open the view to the special spatial effect of colored glass surfaces and show how modern artists transform traditional techniques into a distinct visual language. Transparency, contour, and color surfaces combine to create an aesthetic experience that changes with every glance.

Work Examination with Art Historical Context

The focus is on detailed examination of the works. Dr. Carola Gries places stained glass in art historical contexts and makes visible how motifs, composition, and craft processes develop. This creates a lively access to painting, material art, and modern art direction. The conversation is aimed at both beginners and advanced art enthusiasts.

Cultural Education in the Museum

The event series combines expertise with immediate observation. Questions, observations, and different perspectives shape the exhibition atmosphere and make the museum a place for shared cultural education. Participation is possible at any time, so individual dates can also be visited as a standalone art experience.

Conclusion: Experiencing Modern Stained Glass Directly
