A whole stadium sings Christmas: Düsseldorf experiences a great goosebumps moment
On December 23, 2026, the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA in Düsseldorf transforms into a festive soundscape as O thou joyful – Germany sings! brings together thousands of voices, great Christmas classics, and a stadium-sized live experience. The event will be broadcast live on ARD and the ARD Mediathek, connecting the audience on-site with millions in front of their screens.
When community becomes the refrain
This Christmas singing thrives not on detached show but on participation. Those who are in the arena will become part of a collective choir that charges familiar songs with the power of a large stadium. The combination of live atmosphere, TV production, and shared emotion makes the evening a special pre-Christmas moment.
Prominent voices and strong live presence
Additional sparkle will be provided by the announced guests Sarah Connor and Jonas Kaufmann, as well as the specially assembled Big Band Jingle Jammers. Additionally, choirs from all over Germany will contribute to give the evening broad musical depth. This mixture of pop, vocal artistry, and festive orchestration lends the concert its unique dynamism.
The MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA as a grand Christmas stage
The arena provides the perfect setting for an event of this magnitude. Entry begins at 4:00 PM, with the start at 6:00 PM. On-site, there will be catering options, barrier-free access, and good public transportation connections. This creates a comfortable concert experience for visitors with a clear structure and strong audience atmosphere.
An evening between goosebumps and Christmas feeling
Those who are there in December in Düsseldorf will experience not an ordinary concert, but an evening with emotional pull. When many voices swell together, this special moment arises, which only live music creates on-site: direct, connective, and unforgettable.
Conclusion: O thou joyful – Germany sings! brings Christmas spirit, great voices, and stadium energy under one roof. Those who want to experience music, community, and festive atmosphere live should mark this date.
