Norse Fantasies: #Ignition takes Düsseldorf to Skyrim

On November 24, 2026, the Mendelssohn Hall of the Tonhalle Düsseldorf will be transformed into a Nordic soundscape. At #Ignition – Skyrim, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra combines symphonic power, Scandinavian folk music, and the atmospheric world of great fantasy adventures.

Between Fjords, Myths, and Dragons

Rugged landscapes, Nordic winters, and ancient mythologies create the musical resonance of this special concert evening. The focus on pop culture is on Skyrim; at the same time, the journey continues to Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt, Jean Sibelius, The Lord of the Rings, and God of War.

The Hardanger fiddle meets symphonic sound power

At the center is Ragnhild Hemsing on the Hardanger fiddle. Her distinctive sound anchors the performance in real Nordic folk music and enters into an impressive dialogue with the grand orchestral sound of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. Orchestration, dynamics, and rhythmic synchronization allow familiar fantasy motifs to appear in a new concert dimension.

A young concert series with cinematic stage performance

#Ignition stands for a modern approach to classical music, connecting concert halls, pop culture, and visual storytelling. Under the direction of Gordon Hamilton, an energetic stage performance is created, while Jörg Mohr takes the direction. The live atmosphere promises an evening where orchestral colors, dramatic arcs of tension, and the mood of the audience interweave directly.

Conclusion: Skyrim as an overwhelming live experience

For those who love fantasy soundtracks, video game music, and grand symphonic concert experiences, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf offers an evening full of Nordic expanses and a thirst for musical adventure. Secure your spot and experience #Ignition – Skyrim live in the Mendelssohn Hall.
