Festive String Quartet brings Advent to Düsseldorf
On the second Advent Sunday, December 6, 2026, the Hellerhof Citizens' Association invites you to a special classical concert at the Matthäus-Haus in Garath. A string quartet from the Düsseldorf Symphony will perform works by Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Maurice Ravel.
Between Viennese Classicism and French Timbre
The program combines three defining sound worlds of chamber music. Haydn's clear formal language meets Beethoven's expressive arcs of tension, while Ravel's finely shimmering harmonies give the concert a modern, colorful note. In the concentrated ensemble of the string quartet, dialogue, dynamics, and musical synchronization come to the forefront.
The Düsseldorf Symphony in an Intimate Concert Format
The musicians of the Düsseldorf Symphony present their orchestration art in a particularly approachable setting. Violin, viola, and cello alternate between singing lines, rhythmic precision, and powerful tutti moments. The intimate acoustics of the Matthäus-Haus create space for fine articulation, warm string colors, and immediate audience atmosphere.
Advent Live Atmosphere in Garath
When the first notes sound on the 2nd Advent, the festive season merges with a sophisticated concert experience. Haydn's elegance, Beethoven's dramatic energy, and Ravel's impressionistic colors guide an evening full of musical contrasts. The program is aimed at experienced classical music lovers as well as anyone wanting to discover an atmospheric chamber concert.
Members of the String Quartet
The ensemble includes Dragoş Mânza and Kathrin Braeme on violin, Simón Julian Doggenweiler-Menkhaus on viola, and Jérôme Tétard on cello. Together, they bring the characteristic precision and stage performance of the Düsseldorf Symphony to the southern part of Düsseldorf.
Conclusion: A Musical Advent Evening with Great Impact
The festive concert on 2nd Advent promises Haydn, Beethoven, and Ravel in concentrated chamber music, performed by members of the Düsseldorf Symphony. Those who want to experience the live atmosphere of classical music, fine string colors, and an atmospheric concert evening in Düsseldorf should mark this date.
