Brass Classics: Brass power in the Stephanus Church

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, Cologne Concert Brass brings the powerful sound of a British Brass Band to Düsseldorf-Wersten with Classics in Brass – Brass Classics. 25 brass players and four percussionists present classics and entertaining works in an extraordinary sound formation.

Brilliant sound between classical and modern

The ensemble shows the entire range of modern brass and percussion sound worlds: from bright trumpet and cornet colors to sonorous horns and trombones to the powerful foundation of deep brass. Precise synchronization, dynamic orchestration, and striking percussion impulses shape a concert full of energy and tonal contrasts.

British Brass Band sound with a large ensemble

The typical British Brass Band sound combines brilliant highs, warm middle voices, and a powerful bass register into a transparent, cohesive ensemble sound. In the Stephanus Church, this characteristic stage performance meets the special acoustics of a single-nave church space. Every tutti entrance receives space, while finely tuned passages make the musical detail work audible.

A concert experience for classical fans and brass enthusiasts

Classics in Brass is aimed at everyone who wants to experience orchestral richness of sound, virtuoso brass players, and rhythmic precision live. The program combines well-known classics with entertaining moments and makes the versatility of a large brass ensemble immediately palpable. The audience’s mood arises where brilliant fanfares, buoyant rhythms, and rich sound waves react directly to each other.

The Stephanus Church as an atmospheric concert venue

The Stephanus Church, consecrated in 1958 in Düsseldorf-Wersten, provides an impressive framework for the concert with its simple single-nave hall architecture. The space accommodates around 600 church members and is easily accessible via barrier-free access and public transport.

Conclusion: Brass music live in its full sound range

Cologne Concert Brass promises an evening of brilliant brass sound, pulsating percussion, and varied concert dramaturgy. Anyone who wants to experience the energy of a large brass band, classical melodies, and modern sound colors live should not miss this concert at the Stephanus Church.
