Achim Seifert Project: Jazz with depth, groove, and fine transparency in Düsseldorf
On Friday, November 27, 2026, a high-caliber quartet will meet an audience that loves fine nuances as well as captivating live intensity at the Jazz-Schmiede Düsseldorf. The Achim Seifert Project stands for modern jazz with an open form, clear sound, and a stage performance that combines emotion and precision.
An evening between lyrical tension and pulsating bass
Achim Seifert is one of the prominent German jazz musicians of his generation. As a bassist and composer, he brings experience from international projects, awards, and studio sessions. His playing emphasizes musical clarity, finely tuned interaction, and an orchestration in which every voice gets its space. This concert draws its charm from exactly that: the interplay creates a concert experience that does not boast loudly but resonates deeply.
Woven Strings and the Art of Fine Dynamics
For the tour, the current quartet with Hayden Chisholm, Lars Duppler, and Rafa Müller will be on stage. The sound character is described as transparent and poetic, supported by emotional intensity and precise interaction. In the live atmosphere of the Jazz-Schmiede, this blend unfolds particularly strongly: warm acoustics, an intimate club character, and a direct connection between musicians and the audience. Those who love jazz that generates excitement through sound colors, improvisation, and rhythmic synchronization will find a concert with a true unique profile here.
An artist with resonance far beyond the scene
Achim Seifert was nominated for the ECHO Jazz as best national bassist in 2016, his Achim Seifert Project won the Future Sounds competition at the Leverkusen Jazz Days in 2010 and later performed on large festival stages. Additionally, he has touring experiences with Trilok Gurtu and collaborations with artists such as Udo Lindenberg, Max Mutzke, and Nils Wülker. These references make the evening in Düsseldorf not just a concert date but a meeting point for discerning jazz fans seeking musical substance.
Jazz-Schmiede Düsseldorf: close-up, barrier-free, live
The Jazz-Schmiede is one of the most exciting live locations in the city: intimate, acoustically strong, and with close contact to the stage. Doors typically open for concerts at 20:30 from 19:30, with free seating on-site, but seating is limited. The location is accessible without steps except for the stage and has a barrier-free restroom. Parking is available next to the Schmiede, and if needed, the parking garage of the University Clinics is also available.
